about - LICESS

The Liberian Council for
Economic and Social Services

(LICESS) has been incorporated in Liberia by Liberians. LICESS is a project of the Friends of Liberia (FOL), an organization that has supported development efforts in Liberia since being founded in 1986. Two FOL Board members, Liberian Americans born in Liberia, Joseph Clayton, and Jefferson King, both with extensive backgrounds in technology, business and banking in the U.S.A. as well as Liberia, are participating with the LICESS/Entrepreneurship program. The only non-Liberian, working with LICESS/Entrepreneurship and also on the FOL Governing Board, is Harmon Lisnow, an ex-Peace Corps Volunteer, who has been back to Liberia many times since his service in the early 1960s.
